READ Philippians 3:10

There was a season in my life where I did not live unto God. I am not saying that I am perfect now. But in my early twenties my life was marked by sin. The choices I made as a young man were not unto the Lord; I knew that and so did many others. More importantly, my Savior was well aware of who I was becoming. Sin was taking its toll. I was hurting myself and more importantly I was hurting others. I was backslidden and on a path that is contrary to everything that my life has become.

When a man fails, no matter his age, he hurts others, no matter their age. I wished I would have known that my choices would follow me well on into life. Those choices in my early twenties had implications in my thirties. The lingering effects of sin eventually finds its way to the innocent. I wish it were different.

Now, nearly twenty years later, I am amazed at what He has done. Resurrection Sunday is special to me because I am reminded of what God did when He spoke to me when I had a dead life, a dead faith, a dead hope, and a dead future. The day I made an intentional decision to reconcile with God, things changed. I found freedom and forgiveness when I humbled myself and took God’s side against myself. Life as I knew it began to change when I got honest with who I had become, as an immature man living in sin.

God has a way of making the dead come to life! I love to tell men that there is so much more on the other side of the Cross. But, you must come to the Cross and make things right with God. Once I reconciled with God, I found peace, hope, joy, forgiveness, vision, and on I could go. On the other side of the Cross I found, a wife… Nichole over there. God had 9 children on the other side of the Cross for me: Madison, Morgan, Mallory, Meghan, Joshua, Stephen, Maleah, Mercy, and Mae Ellyn.

The discovery continues. I am excited about what He has done and what He is doing!

How about you? Why not come the Cross, make things right with God and discover what He has for you? I can’t think of a better day than Easter Sunday!

PRAY:
Lord Jesus, come alive in me afresh and anew! Thank You that You got up from the dead and live forevermore! I stand amazed in what You have done in my life. You make all things new! Live on in me, my family, and church to the ends of the earth for Your glory!
