READ Job 19:25-27

We live in an ever-changing world of uncertainty and if we are not certain of a never-changing Truth we will easily be overwhelmed.  We get so caught up in just living life that we often times never take the time to assess where we are or where we are going.

We are just going.  And then it happens!

Something or maybe better said, someone gets our attention.  It makes us stop and look around and we wonder where the time went.  We wonder where the money went.  We wonder where the relationship went.  And then God reminds us that life is but a vapor and that the things that we spend most of our time and energy trying to achieve are at best fleeting in nature.  God’s Word says, “do not put your trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy.”

The only thing that I am certain of is that I shall see God!  I do not say that boastfully. The only way I know it is because in all of my failings… in all of my stumbling… I find that He is the One that is always there.  As a loving Father picking up his fallen child, He is always there.

Like Job in the midst of loss and turmoil the only thing that he could claim with certainty was that Jesus was God and that in the end, nothing else mattered. And that was enough. It was his past hope, his present hope and his future hope even beyond death and into Eternity. Jesus was Job’s only conclusive Certainty in life.  Is He yours?

PRAY:
God, give me certainty in an uncertain world. May I be a man that establishes his life, his family, his everything on that which is Certain!  That is You Lord Jesus and Your Word!  Help me, Lord, to become the man that you created me to be! In Jesus’ Name, Amen!!
