READ 1 Peter 1:2

1 Peter 1:2 reminds me that I was chosen by God the Father, my salvation and security rest in the free and merciful choice of Almighty God, and no trials or persecution can take away the eternal life He gives those who believe in Him.

In athletics players and coaches must practice for the “SUDDEN CHANGE” that will happen during the course of the game.  The outcome of the game usually depends on how successful you handled the “SUDDEN CHANGE.” If you ask any coach how much time is spent on “SUDDEN CHANGE” he will tell you they work daily. It is very important for the one who knows what to do to communicate to the ones who will execute because “SUDDEN CHANGE” in one’s life can come in many forms: health, an accident, loss of job, a wayward child, a son or daughter having life-changing issues, or even getting a promotion to another city.

My wife and I were in the ER of a local hospital with her dying father. As we were praying, we experienced a peace beyond all understanding (Phil 4:7).  We were prepared for the “SUDDEN CHANGE” through our relationship and faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  There was a family who had entered the ER with their mother had a heart attack and there seemed to be no hope for her recovery. They were running and screaming looking anywhere and everywhere for hope and help. They were not prepared for the “SUDDEN CHANGE” of someone they loved so dearly.

I challenge you to spend time daily with our Lord in prayer and in His Word so you can be prepared for the “SUDDEN CHANGE” that will come into your life.

Lord Jesus, I pray that you quicken my heart to know you personally so that I can be prepared for the “SUDDEN CHANGE” in my life as a man. God help me win in whatever I face. For the glory of God, Amen.
