The stage is set, there is no better time for men to begin to move forward in Spiritual leadership… the spiritual leadership of their own life, family, church, and community.

Momentum can be defined as follows:

  1. The product of a body’s mass (men) and linear velocity (the speed in which an object moves)
  2. The power residing in any object
  3. A stage in any sort of change

Momentum is synonymous with “drive” “energy” “force” “forward motion.” The beginning of momentum is taking advantage of the moment. Without realizing where we are as men at this specific point in time of importance, we will not even begin to have momentum… and if we do not realize the importance of living for God in our day unLeashed + unHindered, the momentum will go in a direction that will be detrimental.

Athletes often talk about momentum… and its importance.

Pete Rose, “Sliding headfirst is the safest way to get to the next base, I think, and the fastest. You don’t lose your momentum, and there’s one more important reason I slide headfirst, it gets my picture in the paper.”

Bob Boone, “Momentum changes with one hanging curve-ball.”

Rocco Mediate, “As any athlete knows, momentum is the most unstoppable force in sports. The only way to stop it is if you get in your own way, start making stupid mistakes or stop believing in yourself.”

How can we as men in everyday “real life” situations make a difference that will cause us to have momentum in our own lives, families, employment, church, and community?

1. The first step in gaining momentum is taking the first step. What adjustments do you need to make to begin positioning yourself for momentum that unleashes you unhindered in your personal relationship with the Master?

2. If you’re coasting, you’re either losing momentum, or else, you are headed downhill. We have no time left to be playing games with our own spiritual walk with the Lord Jesus. We will not wander into growing in our relationship with Christ, we must aggressively pursue Him. Our personal growth is an urgent matter!

3. If your position is everywhere, you momentum is zero. Many of us are going in a hundred different directions and we have no momentum in our homes, churches, work, etc… We need to simplify. Instead of Christ-centered life we have settled for complex chaos that will always keep us from gaining any momentum in what matters most.

Adrian Rogers said, “If satan can’t make you bad, he will make you busy.”

4. Whether you like it or not, if you are not moving forward each and every day, you are unfortunately sliding backwards. And that’s not the direction you want to be heading. What changes do you need to make? What is it that you need to stop doing, so that you can start doing? What is it that you need to put down, so that you can pick up?

Proverbs 14:14, The backslider in heart shall be filled with his own ways: and a good man shall be satisfied from himself.

5. Nobody, not even the best of us, can ever reach our objectives and achieve our goals going in the wrong direction. Most of us do not realize that we are going in the wrong direction until it is too late. And, if we do realize that we are going in the wrong direction most of do not know how to get the help we need to make the adjustments.

6. Momentum develops daily, not in a day. ‘This one thing I do’ has got to become our new normal.

Men, let’s do this!
