READ 1 Corinthians 15

It is tempting to move on into another day, another week if you’re not careful. But please, let me encourage you to really take some time and consider yesterday, Resurrection Sunday. Would you prayerfully process what really happened on that day? Take time and think through the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The implications could be both historic and eternal. You don’t want to be on the wrong side of history.

We live in a world that wants nothing more of Jesus than for Him to be dead. I don’t want Him to be dead but, if I’m not careful I can live life as though He is dead. At times, I rush into the next thing, day, or project making decisions and checking off the next item on my list. The pace that life takes can be paralyzing–and we try our best to live simple and slow. I wish I could slow down this life because it’s moving so fast and I can’t keep up. I had people tell me that my children would grow up before I knew it. I tried to heed their wise counsel but am found wanting more time.

Read all fifty-eight verses in this chapter slowly. Think through the implications of the Gospel of Jesus Christ… according to the Scriptures. One of the verses I like is verse eight where Paul says, “Then last of all He was seen by me…” Men, let’s make it a point to see Jesus before running off into another year. The word “seen” translates as “to become visible, appear” as well as “see; pay attention to; understand; visit; experience; learn about.”

My hope after this Easter, beginning today, that Jesus will be seen by me. I want Him to be more visible in my life. More and more, I want to see Him appear in the things I do as a husband and father. I want to pay attention to what He is saying and what He is doing. I want to understand Him and have his heart, mind, and will about the life He desires for me. I hope that I visit with Him more than I ever have between now and next Easter. My desire is to go at a pace when I experience Him in all the details this life has to offer as I learn about Him.

Men, our day is a day that requires that Jesus be “seen” by us.¬†Would you join me in seeing Jesus come alive in all that we are and all that we have?¬†

“For since by man came death, by Man also came the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive” (1 Corinthians 15:21-22). Lord Jesus, slow me down so that I experience resurrection power not just on Easter Sunday. Jesus, meet me with Your power and life moment by moment from this day until that day. Oh God, make me alive in Christ until He returns, AMEN!

We live in a world that wants nothing more of Jesus than for Him to be dead. Yet, that’s impossible! @Real_Momentum App
