READ 2 Corinthians 4:16-5:10

A missionary was widowed on the field due to a violent attack from gunfire. She was wounded as well. Once she was stabilized, she was flown back to the United States. She was asked, at her bedside, what the Lord was teaching her now that she had been a widow for 7 days at the age of 26. Her answer is spot on. She said, “We have to stop living like this is home.” She hit the bull’s eye!

When this life is over there is only one thing that is going to matter. What did you do with the life God has given you? For the believer this is what life is all about. We are living this life in preparation for the next life. Even though this body that we have is dying a little more each day, we are being renewed inside each day by the Holy Spirit.

We are to be courageous for Christ. We are to walk by faith and not by sight. Why? Well because one day we will stand at the Judgment Seat of Christ to give an account of this life. Our sin won’t be judged there, that was judged on the cross when Jesus suffered and died. Because of His resurrection we can be made right with God.

The Judgment Seat is a place where your works will be tried by fire to see if they were done in obedience to God’s Word and for His glory. How you spent your time, talents, and treasures will be taken into account on this great and awesome day.

Are you living this life in light of the fact that you will be graded on how well you did?

Do your actions reflect you living for this life or the next?

PRAY:
Dear God, help me to live this life in preparation for the next life. Show me where You want me to make changes, in Jesus name, Amen.
