READ 2 Corinthians 5:17

Therefore if any man [be] in Christ, [he is] a new creature: old things are passed away; behold all things are become new.

When we become totally dependent on the Father, He changes everything.

  • Surrender to Christ radically changes your mission in life
  • The power to complete our mission does not come from ourselves, but from Christ at work in us
  • When we abide in Christ, even our weaknesses can be used for His glory

Before Saul of Tarsus met Christ he was:

  • A Pharisee and a persecutor of Christ Followers.
  • He consented to the stoning of Stephen, an early martyr of the church.
  • He wreaked havoc with the church, going house to house, arresting the Lord’s disciples and dragging them off to prison.
  • Saul was a terrorist.

But Saul met Jesus Christ on the road to Damascus and everything changed.

  • He didn’t become a more accomplished Pharisee or a more intimidating terrorist.
  • His heart changed, his priorities changed and his mission changed.
  • Saul, the terrorist of the church, became “Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God”
  • Paul’s mission changed from destroying the church to building it.

When we keep our eyes on the Father, we will be amazed at what He will do for us.

Rick Hoyt was born in 1962 to Dick and Judy Hoyt. At birth, Rick was diagnosed as a spastic quadriplegic with cerebral palsy.  But his father stepped up. Together they completed over 1,000 races, including marathons, decathlons and triathlons (6 of them being Ironman competitions). Also adding to their list of achievements, Dick and Rick biked and ran across the U.S. in 1992, completing a full 3,735 miles in 45 days. Download their inspiring video. www.teamhoyt.com

PRAY:
God, thank you for the change You make. I pray that You will complete the work you started in me. May I find great joy in how You move in and through me as a man. Make the change impact my family and my church to the ends of the earth. In Jesus’ Name, Amen!
