READ 2 Corinthians 9:6-7

At first glance this promise from God does not seem to make sense to the natural man. If we give (sow) generously we will receive (reap) generously. When we give, our natural thought might be I am losing something by giving and I will likely not receive anything in return. Well, this is not true according to God’s economy. As we are open to be generous to others, God supernaturally works to keep on providing resources to us to give to others generously!

I have learned that you can’t out give God, He owns it all. When we understand the resources we have are all from God and we are His stewards, it should help us to look for opportunities to be generous towards others. God will judge us on how generous we were with what we were given.

The second part of the promise is that if we sow sparingly we will reap sparingly. If we will not be generous, God will not be generous towards us. Fear or selfishness may hinder us from being generous, but if we will trust in God as our provider and focus on others, God will use us to make a difference in this generation.

Make the decision to be a generous giver and God will bring people around you that you can be a blessing to and show them the love of God in a tangible way.

PRAY:
God, help me to be a generous giver in my family and with others as You guide me by your Spirit. Please forgive me for times I have not helped others when You prompted me in the past. Help me to be a good steward of the resources You provided me. Help me to live a lifestyle of generosity with Your power. Amen.
